Managing Editor: Sam Eggleston
Sam Eggleston has been a freelance writer and editor for the past two years. Prior to his foray into the freelance world, Eggleston was a full-time journalist for nearly 10 years, working for Ogden Newspapers, Morris Communications and Gannett. He has nearly three dozen local, state and national writing awards ranging from sports to columns to features to coverage. Eggleston is a native to the Upper Peninsula, graduating from Mid Peninsula High School before making the long trek to Northern Michigan University. He began his journalism career in 2000 in Escanaba before moving to Alaska, Detroit and back to Marquette. He currently resides in Marquette County with his fiancée, Kim, and his daughter, Shaylyn.

Managing Photographer: Shawn Malone
Shawn Malone is Managing Photographer for Upper Peninsula Second Wave. She has been a freelance photographer for the past 10 years. Her work has been used worldwide in every type of media. During the summer, you might find her at an art show around the midwest, where she exhibits her collection of landscape art, primarily of scenic Lake Superior. Malone moved to the Upper Peninsula from Chicago in 2000 and lives in Marquette with her husband, Brian, and dog, Molly.
