A new restaurant is open in Ironwood, serving up what is from all accounts delicious and authentic northern Italian food, probably close to the hearts of many in the U.P.
Buon Appetito is owned by Tiziana Thompson, who says she grew up in the Lombardy region of Italy and is inspired by her parents' cooking at home.
The restaurant and coffee shop, at 102 East Aurora Street, offers bistro-style food like pasta and pizza, Italian hot chocolate, organic coffees and espresso, pastries, panini sandwiches, and, oooh, freshly made gelato.
Thompson uses organic and local ingredients combined with imported ingredients for a homemade, authentic Italian menu.
