Anytime a new store comes to town, it's worth noting since the jobs help boost the economy and local dollars tend to stay in the community.
In Hancock, the newest business is Remy Battery
, which already has a location in Escanaba that opened in 2010. The Copper Country location will be opening its doors at 315 Dakota Street in the old Everts building.
"Remy Battery offers one-stop shopping for all types of batteries," says manager Adam Laplander. "Whatever your product, we can supply and install the battery power you need."
According to Laplander, the new store will carry a full line of quality branded batteries, including automotive, commercial, lawn and garden, marine, motorcycle, cell or cordless phones, camcorder, laptop, two-way radios, emergency lighting, alkaline, booster packs, gel cell or uninterruptable power sources. The retailer also offers a full line of battery accessories--from chargers and testers to cables and lugs--and provides free 15-minute installation, free electrical check, free battery recycling, custom battery designs and installations.
Hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon.
