Marquette General Hospital has long made a name for itself by pushing to be the top medical facility in the Upper Peninsula. In a recent announcement, the hospital has made it clear that it will continue to do so, seeking out possible partnerships to help improve the quality of health care available across the U.P.
"Our goal is, as always, to improve the quality of health care in the Upper Peninsula, strengthen Marquette General financially and expand our role in the community," says Gary Muller, president and CEO of Marquette General Health System. "The hospital will be here, creating jobs and caring for and serving our community for generations to come."
The hospital indicated in a statement that it is seeking partnerships that will allow for opportunities to expand services and practice areas, including construction of a new, state-of-the-art outpatient surgical center and recovery center for inpatient and outpatient surgery.
A partnership can also create new opportunities for doctors, nurses and health care professionals in the U.P. through the creation of new centers of excellence at Marquette General, new and expanded service lines, and mentoring and training programs for staff to improve the patient experience.
During the search for partnerships, Marquette General will continue to operate as normal as a Level II Trauma Center, a leading oncology center and the only neo-natal intensive care center in the region.
