Marquette General Health System hires new neurologist with 18 years experience
Marquette General Health System has announced the addition of a third neurologist to its Marquette General Neurology practice in Marquette.
Dr. Joav Kofman will be joining Dr. Roman Politi and Dr. P.C. Gupta at the
Marquette General Brain and Spine Center, which was formerly the Marquette General Neuroscience Center.
Kofman is relocating from Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, where he has been treating patients with a range of neurological problems for the last eight years. In total, he has been practicing for more than 18 years.
He is a board-certified neurologist and completed a fellowship in electromyography and neuromuscular disease at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. Prior to that, Kofman completed residencies at two Chicago hospitals: Columbus Hospital and Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. His medical degree is from the Chicago Medical School.
Kofman specializes in providing diagnosis and treatment for nervous system disorders, which includes the brain, spinal cord and nerves. He also treats movement and muscle disorders, and will address other conditions, including pain, memory loss, brain and spinal tumors, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, stroke, and muscular dystrophy.
According to MGHS Information Services, patients might need a neurology consultation if they have dizziness, seizures, blackouts, numbness, tingling, weakness, paralysis, or lack of coordination.
