Jobs Landed: Tuma named vice president of Marquette General Medical Group of 140 providers

Scott Tuma's career has been one of steady advancement, so this fall's announcement from Marquette General Health System that his new job title is vice president is no surprise.

Tuma, of Marquette, has been named vice president of the Marquette General Medical Group. He will lead about 140 MGHS-employed health care providers, as well as more than 400 support staff.

Most recently, Tuma has been the director of operation for the medical group, and before that was chief operating officer for Bell Medical Center. His resume also includes having been Bell Hospital's director of human resources, United Rentals regional human resource director, and working in employee and labor relations for Cliffs at the Tilden Mine.

His educational background includes an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor's degree in management from Northern Michigan University. Tuma is a native of Mt. Pleasant and lives in Marquette with his family. He also is a co-founder and race director for the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic, and is involved in the Superiorland Cross Country Ski Club and Youth League.
